EA Announces Launch of Multiplayer MySims SkyHeroes

In a late September press release, EA Play (a subsidiary of EA) has announced the launch of MySims SkyHeroes. The game offers what they call, “a high flying action adventure game that brings cooperative gameplay missions and multiplayer online action to the MySims franchise.” The game will be available on all major consoles, including the Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS.

The General Manager of the The Sims Studio, Scott Evans, offered his insight as to why he thinks lovers of all prior Sims games will take to SkyHeroes.

“MySims SkyHeroes strikes the right balance for players of all skill levels with three levels of difficulty,” Evans said. “Making it an ideal game for everyone from fathers and sons to play together, to hardcore gaming fans looking for high-speed aerial maneuvers, boss battles and multiplayer action.”

The game is action-packed from the get-go, according to EA. Players can leap right into the ‘Single Player Campaign’ mode, which offers more than forty missions and 12 different playing environments to entice gamers with. Each mission is loaded with power-ups and other ‘unlockable upgrades’ that players can utilize while on their way to increasing their levels and battling insane end bosses. The game is multifaceted, in the sense that gamers can use power-ups, like a radar jammer, to outwit enemies. It is also filled with tons of nifty upgrades that can be unlocked, such as more aircraft for them to choose from, weapons upgrades and even customizable pilots.

According to the press release, customization is a large aspect of the game. “The customization combinations are endless, which is part of the MySims SkyHeroes strategy and fun.”

Additionally, the game allows for other SkyHeroes players to aid one another. For example, if a gamer is having difficulty defeating an end boss, another player can join their session and aid them. Similarly, that same player can help out the other by joining their session—allowing both players to score massive points, adding a unique twist to the classic Sims storyline.

There are also two lauded ‘Quick Play’ modes that are included in the game: Dogfighting and Racing. Both modes are able to be enjoyed by gamers online. 10 players can play in these modes on Xbox 360 and PS3, six players can compete on the Wii, and four can pit their skills against one another on the Nintendo DS.
